English School
Students in the English School. |
P.V. Alexander Ministries also oversees the "Ebenezer English School." The focus of the school is to teach students the English language, which provides many opportunities for them. Students are taught all traditional school subjects in English.
This year we have approximately 280 students. The school is approved by the Indian Federal Government and is authorized to issue diplomas to graduates.
Parents must pay tuition for their children to attend English School. Knowing how to speak English gives students a distinct advantage in finding jobs. Although the primary purpose of the school is learning English, religion is an integral part of the studies. In addition to their regular school work, all students participate in a Christian education program. This program includes Christian musical instruction, as well as Bible study.
Each year, students in the English School present a program for their parents and extended family. More than 1,000 family members attend the program and hear about the love of Jesus Christ through the children's presentations.
During 2014, we plan to expand to include 9th and 10th grade instruction, pending government approval. We plan to add 11th and 12th grade the following year. Each expansion requires a rigorous approval process with the Indian Federal Government.
Currently the school employs 18 teachers, a principal, office clerk, and an administrator.
