Report of the 33rd General Convention of Church of Christ January 12-15, 2018
Dear Brethren in Christ,
We greet you in the name of risen Saviour and Lord Jesus.
We thank and praise God for having brought as thus far and enabled us to carry on usual work and Ministry in spite of several impediments and obstacles; we thank many of you for your fervent prayer and sacrificial Gifts without which we would have faced many difficulties. Your sacrificialsupports help us in to reach many for Christ.
GENERAL CONVENTION
The Convention were held in the Kerala Christian Theological Seminary campus at Mission Hill, Ayur from 12th to 15th January 2018 . The group form Green View Christian Church from IL, led by Dr. Terry Edison and Dr. Mont Mitchel, ministerof WestBrook Christian Church Boling Brook, IL. There was a big crowd including the people from other denomination , the preachers of Gospel attended the Meeting from different parts of Kerala and Tamil Nadu. We had four days of enjoyment fellowship. Mutual understanding refreshing mind and body and renew with the spirit in Jesus Christ.
ALUMNI
On Friday morning from 9 am to 1 pm we had Alumni Meetingheld. Our old students who are the preachers of the Lord and others attended. There was Testimony of many preachers about there life as a minister of a Gospel and their experience in the Seminary.
PASTORS CONFERENCE
Friday afternoon 2.30 to 4 pm we have pastors Conference. They shared their experiences, Testimony,.needs and their problems. etc…. in this meetings. our preachers were encouraged by guest speakers message.
CHRISTIAN REVIVAL YOUTH MOVEMENT MEETING
The young people’s meeting started at 9 am. We have competition in different subjects. And young people had a chance to show their talents. After the competition, we had distributed prize for winners. And about 250 youngsters attended and presented the programme.
WOMEN’S CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP
The women’s Christian fellowship had taken place in the Seminary Chapel. There were200 of ladies attend the meeting . Many of them shared their Testimony and experiences of their life. Some are dedicated their lives for our Lord Jesus Christ.
KERALA CHRISTIAN THEOLOGICAL SEMINARY 30TH GRADUATION
The ceremony held of 3 pm in the Seminary Campus. The colourful procession moved with a hymn ( Onward Christian Soldier ). President P.V. Alexander was presiding this ceremony. by the Grace of God 77 Students Graduated by this year with many Degrees.
The guest speaker Dr. Mont Mitchel given challenging message on the theme ‘’ Take my yoke up on you’’ .His message was emphasized who is a Minister and what are the qualities of Minister. He reminded that the Graduates to be good ministers and they have responsibilities as Minister of Gospel were they are.
BAPTISM
On 14th January was the last day of convention before staring worship service the Baptism was conducted.There are 17 people Baptized in to Christ (Acts : 2.38.)After Baptism we had worship service it was most joyful time that all the people shared the Lords Supper together from one bread and one cup.
Those who financially and prayerfully supporting this ministry we are highly thankful to each and everyone there.
Every day we have Gospel meetings in the evening, through the meetings many came to the Lord and surrounded theirlives for our Lord Jesus Christ.
May the God of peace , who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, The great shepherd of the sheep, equip youwith everything good for doing his will and may he work in us what is pleasing to him to through Jesus Christ,to whom be Glory for ever and ever, Amen.
