Hospital Ministry

Inside Mercy Hospital

Until the late 1990s, Kerala was covered by a state-run public health system. During the 1990s, that system deteriorated dramatically, leaving the residents vulnerable to disease and sickness with little access to healthcare. Since then, the government has decentralized health care. While the situation is somewhat improved, the poorest citizens who cannot pay for healthcare remain particularly susceptible.

P.V. Alexander Ministries provides a variety of medical services to meet the physical needs of the local people. Sharing in their physical trials often opens doors to allow us to share to love of Jesus Christ in a tangible way. Patients are asked to pay for services at whatever level they can, however no one is refused treatment because of an inability to pay.

Mercy Hospital in Valakom is the foundation of our medical outreach ministry efforts. The hospital was started in 1995 and has grown steadily since opening. We now have a multi-specialty hospital with 200 beds.  We provide a variety of much-needed services that are scarce in the area. All of our departments are staffed by qualified medical staff. Staff salaries, equipment and medical supplies makes this one of our most expensive ministries. Your financial contributions can help us continue and expand our services. Contact us today to get involved.

We target our services toward the poor of Kerala. In recognition of our hard work and dedication, we received special recognition from the Indian Secretary of Health.  The hospital has also been recognized by the Royal Family of Kerala.

In addition to medical services, the hospital has a minister on staff and offers daily prayer meetings and bible studies for both patients and staff. New Testaments are distributed free to anyone who comes to the hospital.
